The idols, adorned with accurate costumes and saffron flags, mirrored the film's poster. 'Chhaava,' also starring Rashmika Mandanna, became a box office hit, earning ₹601.

As Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations sweep across the country, actor Vicky Kaushal joined in the festivities by sharing a video of a ‘Chhaava’-inspired idol.The actor, who played the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in the box office blockbuster, posted two clips on social media that gave glimpses of the idols seated on the Maratha throne, much like depicted in the film's poster. The idols were also adorned in accurate costumes, head gears and pearl jewellery, and even holding up saffron flags.

Filmy twist to Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations

Over the years, several idols of lord Ganesha have been inspired by hit Indian films. From idols designed to the form of Prabhas' 'Baahubali' to Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa' and Ram Charan's 'RRR', fans have seen Idols fashioned to their favourite movies, giving the festival a rather filmy twist.

'Chhaava box office performance'

'Chhaava' starring Vicky in the lead alongside Rashmika Mandanna, the film that released in January, went on to become the highes grossing film of the year. According to Sacnilk, Chhaava saw a surge in its box office performance, earning an estimated Rs 601.54 crore at the Indian box office. Of the said amount, the film earned a major portion of the collections from the Hindi belt, earning a total of Rs 585.67 crore.The film, which was also released in Telugu, earned an estimated Rs15.87 crore from the dubbed versions.Subsequently, the film also went on to cross the Rs 800 crore mark at the world wide box office, after earning an estimated Rs 91 crore from international markets. This pushed its overall total to an estimated Rs 807.88 crore.
